Woven Products Made in the Weaving Haus
The Weaving Haus is now back in business after 150 years. We now have a period loom and are producing many woven articles and rag rugs that are sold in shop.
The Weaving Haus was built around 1825 and weaving was done in the lower level for the Zoar Society. Three grades of linen was woven along with rag rugs. The weavers lived on the upper floors. The two looms were not enough to keep up with demand and a water powered woolen mill was built and the Weaving Haus became a private home sometime in the 1930's.
Stop in and see what we are working on and some of our finished products once again made in the Weaving Haus in Zoar.
Weaving Haus Antiques is OPEN Monday thru Friday, 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and weekends by chance or appointment. |
